Character management: 1.1 Age Requirement: 18+ Only You must be at least 18 years old to join the server. This helps create a mature and safe environment for everyone. Please confirm your age when you join and know that we will enforce this rule. 1.2 Character names Character names should be realistic and include both a first and last name. Do NOT use any slurs or offensive language in your character's name. Additionally, do not choose names of real celebrities or overly common names, such as Ben Dover, Justin Bieber, Al Dente, Tom Ato, … 1.3 English only All communication on the server, including text and voice chats, must be conducted in English. This ensures clear and inclusive interactions among all members. Please refrain from using other languages to maintain consistency. Roleplay guidelines: 2.1 Value of life All players must respect the value of life in roleplay. Your character should act in a way that reflects the seriousness of life and death situations. Avoid unnecessary violence and make decisions that align with your character's goals and motivations. Characters should prioritize survival and think carefully before engaging in risky actions that could lead to death or serious consequences. Remember, roleplay should be enjoyable and meaningful for everyone involved. 2.2 Prioritize roleplay Be your character, not yourself. Your character's actions and decisions should always match their personality, backstory, and goals. Fully step into your character's role and focus on creating real and believable roleplay. Don't let your own personal feelings, opinions, or experiences affect how your character behaves. Keep the focus on roleplaying your character, not yourself. 2.3 No character bleeding Players must keep a clear separation between in-character (IC) and out-of-character (OOC) emotions and experiences. Real-life feelings should not influence your character's behavior, and in-game events should not be taken personally or affect your real-life emotions. Maintain the integrity of the roleplay by ensuring your character's actions are true to their story, not influenced by your personal reactions. 2.4 No meta-gaming Do not use out-of-character (OOC) information or knowledge that your character wouldn’t realistically have to gain an unfair advantage in-game. 2.5 No power-gaming Avoid forcing unrealistic actions or outcomes on others or using game mechanics in ways that break immersion. Your character should not have abilities beyond their normal limitations. 2.6 Respect other players Treat all players with respect, both in-character and out-of-character. Harassment, racism and toxic behavior will not be tolerated. This includes any hate towards LGBTQIA+, fatphobia, xenophobia, … 2.7 No Random Deathmatch (RDM) Do not kill or attack other players without proper in-character reasoning and roleplay buildup. Randomly attacking players breaks immersion and harms roleplay. 2.9 No Vehicle Deathmatch (VDM) Do not use vehicles to intentionally run over or kill other players unless it is part of a planned roleplay scenario. 2.10 No Combat Logging Logging out to avoid roleplay consequences, such as being arrested or injured, is strictly prohibited. 2.11 Character farming We do not accept cheating or character farming. This includes transferring items, money, cars, houses, etc., between your characters. Having multiple characters is a bonus, not a requirement. This includes any method of transferring items, even if you pass them through another character. 2.12 ERP Erotic roleplay must be consensual among all participants and is restricted to those who are 18 years old or older. 2.13 Character Appearance Your character's look should match the realistic and immersive feel we want for the server. Outfits that seem low effort or break the immersive experience—like those clearly linked to the FiveM Arena game mode or other subcultures that don’t fit—are not allowed. Example: Wearing a combination of a bowl cut hairstyle, surgical gloves, cat ears, and goggles that are associated with FiveM Arena to show that connection is not acceptable. 2.14 Ocean Dumping Dumping someone's body in the ocean is allowed for story purposes, but it must not be used to force permadeath or memory loss. If a player is ocean dumped, they can direct the police to the location where they were originally downed to prevent abuse of evidence collection mechanics. Always ensure that any actions serve a clear roleplay reason and contribute to the overall story. 2.15 Pocket Wiping Pocket wiping is not allowed. Stealing items or money from another player requires a valid roleplay reason. All theft actions must be realistic and follow roleplay rules. You cannot take everyday items like mixers (DJ), phones, boomboxes, food or drinks. 2.16 Fail RP Fail RP is not permitted. Players must act in ways that fit their character and the roleplay. Choices should be believable and should not ignore serious situations. 2.17 Griefing Griefing is prohibited. This includes intentionally disrupting other players’ experiences through harassment, trolling, or unfair behavior, such as waiting in front of the hospital after someone has died. All players must be respectful and fair to ensure everyone can enjoy the game. 2.18 No baiting RP Baiting RP is not allowed. This means trying to provoke other players into reacting for your own amusement, without a real roleplay reason. All interactions should be meaningful and add to the story. Be respectful and avoid tricks that disrupt the fun for others. 2.19 Roleplaying out sexual harassment, assault and other triggering topics These topics should never be roleplayed. If they occur, report them to our staff instead of the in-character police or social media. Roleplaying these issues shows a lack of respect for real victims and minimizes their experiences. This behavior will not be tolerated. 2.20 Identifying Players Players can recognize others by their looks, including their face, clothes, beards, masks, hats, tattoos, and other features. However, you cannot identify someone by their voice. 2.21 Illegal activity before restarts Do not start any illegal activity within 30 minutes before the server restarts. This ensures that all scenes can be completed smoothly without interruptions. 2.22 Whitelisted Jobs Limit You may have no more than 3 whitelisted jobs. This helps maintain a balanced economy and allows more players to access these roles. 2.23 Business Vehicles for Crime Using business vehicles for criminal activities is not allowed. Business vehicles should only be used for work-related tasks. 2.24 No Leaving Until the Scene Ends Players are not allowed to disconnect, respawn or "see the light" until the scene has fully concluded. This means waiting until all roleplay interactions, EMS responses and police actions are complete. This ensures fair and realistic roleplay for everyone involved in the scene. 2.14 Asset Dumping Sharing or giving away server assets (‘dumping’) to others when you’re leaving the server or for any other reason is not allowed. This includes cars, houses, items, money, … and any other content. Technical requirements: 3.1 Working microphone with no background noise A working microphone without background noise is required to play at City Nights RP. Make sure your microphone is functioning and that you use Push To Talk in the game’s voice chat settings. Do not leave your mic open; this creates a "Hot Mic" situation where others can hear your background noise. 3.2 Exploitation Taking advantage of game mechanics or systems to gain an unfair benefit is not allowed. This includes using bugs, glitches, or loopholes to help your character. If you are caught exploiting any part of the game, you will face consequences. 3.3 No Cheating Cheating in any form is strictly prohibited. This includes using mod menus, third-party programs, exploiting game mechanics, or any actions that give you an unfair advantage over other players. All players are expected to play fairly and uphold the integrity of the game. Violations of this rule can result in immediate consequences, including a ban from the server. 3.4 No use of third-party communication No use of third-party software to communicate (such as Discord, messaging apps, etc.) during roleplay scenarios. All communication must happen in-game to maintain immersion and fairness. 3.5 Reporting Money Exploits and Loopholes If you come across any bug, glitch or trick that lets you earn money way faster than normal—such as getting huge amounts of cash from a single action—you must report it. This includes anything that breaks the balance of the server’s economy, like money loops or other methods that feel “too good to be true.” Reporting these issues helps keep the game fair and fun for everyone, so no one has an unfair advantage. 3.6 Reports Must Have Clips All reports require video clips as proof. Screenshots alone aren’t enough. Having clips helps us get the full story and ensures reports are handled fairly. 3.7 Reimbursements must have clips To request a reimbursement, you must provide video clips. This shows us what happened and verifies any issues, so we can fairly assess the situation. 3.8 No OOC before reporting If you want to make a report, it must stay in the proper channels and not be discussed in OOC spaces like Discord, general chat or direct messages. If your report is handled OOC, it will be dismissed and considered invalid. This keeps reports fair and respectful, with all evidence in one place. 3.9 No Passive Income from Whitelisted Jobs You must only be clocked in to a whitelisted job if you’re actively working. This means being at your job location or doing related tasks (like deliveries, roadside repairs or store duties). Clocking in just to earn money while doing something else, especially criminal activity, is not allowed. Using your job as a cover or passive income source breaks server balance and realism. Criminal life: 4.1 Gang Beefs Gang beefs are allowed but must follow these rules: - A maximum of 6v6 participants is permitted. - There must be a solid backstory for the conflict, which must be verified by an admin before any fighting begins. (Open a ticket) - Law enforcement will intervene if innocent lives are at risk, especially in public settings. However, if the conflict occurs on each other's territory, police intervention will not take place. - 5 scheduled gun fights allowed after backstory verification. - Gang must be able to be recognisable by flag/color 4.2 Heist Limits 4 players max to a heist or crime mechanic. This includes any blocks/swaps/… Police are limited to 6 unless the encounter has lasted over 20 minutes and/or is violent. The player count includes blocks, swaps, … 4.3 Robbing Robbing gang members and robbing vehicles are allowed. However, robbing civilians is not permitted unless they have provoked an issue with a gang member. Additionally, robbing police officers or EMS personnel is strictly forbidden. No loot-boxing though. Make sure there is valid RP behind it as well. For example, don't rob a civilian and then immediately kill them afterwards. 4.4 No Revenge Raids Revenge raids and retaliations are not allowed. This means you cannot return to a location or group to get back at them after a previous incident. Keep roleplay realistic and fair. 4.5 Blackout / Raid / Burn Rules - You may not blackout or raid a location that you do not own or have no involvement with. - The location or gang must have a previous story. - Always coordinate and open a ticket with an admin before starting. - You may not blackout, raid or burn businesses or properties owned by innocent civilians. - Burning the entire city or multiple blocks is not allowed. - You may not attack police or EMS during raids or blackouts. - Looting the property is allowed, but must be part of the roleplay. 4.6 Asset Dumping in Crime In criminal activity, dumping stolen assets (cars, cash, goods, weapons) is prohibited unless the items are sold or used in active roleplay. Do not dump large quantities of stolen items without roleplay reason. 4.7 Graffiti Rules Graffiti is allowed as a form of roleplay but must be used responsibly. Avoid tagging inappropriate, offensive or rule-breaking content. Graffiti should make sense within the storylines of your character or group and not be spammed around the map. Be mindful of other players' roleplay and avoid using graffiti to disrupt or troll. Do not tag up businesses or government buildings. 4.8 Gang roleplay behaviour Players cannot act like a gang or move in large groups causing trouble unless they are part of an approved gang. Wearing gang clothes or colors is only allowed if you are in that gang. All gangs must be approved by the server staff and unapproved gang activity will lead to punishments. Gang roleplay is a privilege and must follow the server rules and good roleplay standards. Breaking this rule can result in warnings, kicks or bans. Always focus on creating fun and realistic roleplay for everyone.
